This attractive dessert apple is a keeper, it will easily keep until May and sometimes later.Originating in 1834 in the garden of the Marquis of Exeter in Northants the variety was valuable in Victorian times before the age of refrigeration and cold storage was used to keep apples through the winter. The flavour is sweet and the texture crisp.
