Bramley apples are the most popular and probably most well known cooker apples. When cooked they form a golden fluffy puree with a sharp bite. Bramley apple trees are vigorous and long lived, resistant to canker and apple scab. The Bramley variety was formed after a young girl planted apple pips in her garden, in Nottinghamshire in 1809.
