Belle de Boskoop produces large dual purpose apples that hold their shape when cooked, making it a useful variety for French apple tarts (see our blog for recipes!). When eaten fresh it has a sharp, juicy flavour and can also be used for cider making. It makes a large spreading tree with good general disease resistance and pretty ornamental flowers. Crops are reliable and heavy. Belle de Boskoop originated in Boskoop, Holland in 1856. An excellent apple, full of flavour, versatile and easy to grow.
